1. Define the Requirement Before Looking for Suppliers
Clarify the product, specification, quantity, materials, customization, destination, timeline and any certification requirements. A vague requirement creates quotations that cannot be compared.
2. Supplier Search
Potential supplier channels may include B2B platforms, search engines, industrial clusters, trade fairs, directories, existing networks and referrals. The right channel depends on the product.
3. Create a Comparable RFQ
Ask suppliers to quote the same specification, quantity, packaging assumption and trade terms. Otherwise price differences may simply reflect different interpretations.
4. Compare More Than Price
Review price, MOQ, material, manufacturing capability, lead time, communication, samples, packaging and commercial terms together.
5. Sampling
Where practical, validate the product, material, color, finish, function or packaging before committing to bulk production.
6. Production & Quality Control
Supplier selection is not the end of procurement. Production follow-up, inspection, packaging and shipment preparation still require execution.
7. Consolidation & Shipping
When multiple suppliers are involved, collection and shipment planning should be considered early rather than only after every order is finished.
